I am proud to be a colleague and also a manager working with Eddy Wamushya here in Iraq for the USAID-Tijara Provincial Economic Growth Program. Eddy is particularly effective in the areas of management information systems (MIS) and information technologies (IT), having readily designed, developed and adapted them to Iraqi microfinance institutions with over 72,000 clients and almost $110 million in outstanding loans. The impact of Eddy's work is in mentoring his Iraqi colleagues to be equally effective in MIS and IT areas, and overall supporting the Iraqi microfinance industry to transform from its current non-governmental organizational (NGO) status to that of financial sector-integrated non-bank financial intermediaries (NBFIs). I would be equally proud to work with Eddy anywhere as he continues to advance in his brilliant career in financial sector development.
