• Developed and applied novel DNA library preparation methods for ATAC-seq and DAP-seq. The positions of open chromatin and of transcription factors binding sites were identified throughout the entire canola and wheat genomes using Next Generation Sequencing. In particular the binding sites of the cold tolerance inducing CBF transcription factors were analyzed in the wheat genome. • Developed and applied novel DNA library preparation methods for ATAC-seq and DAP-seq. • Accomplished a 50-80% glucosinolate reduction in elite Brassica carinata breeding lines by identifying the low glucosinolate ‘Bronowski’ alleles in canola and corresponding alleles in Brassica juncea followed by interspecific crosses and marker assisted introgression. • Developed an efficient and economical method for simultaneous SNP, InDel and PAV genotyping for crops with a complex genome. The principles of the KASP and microsattelite PCR methods were combined and multiplexed, followed by capillary electrophoresis and analysis using the GeneMarker software• Introgression of the Ogura hybrid system and herbicide tolerance in carinata. Setup, maintenance and harvest of the nursery and the yield trials. Data collection and statistical analysis.
