In this position I have gained experience in the homeless community. I screen clients for eligibility, assist client who are in need and assign clients to case managers once approved. I keep track of case manager and housing navigator case load, prepare files, review and organizes files once closed. Assisting my manager is a daily duty as well, keeping track of our master calendar, helping coordinate meetings, prepare the proper paperwork, and reserving our meeting room. In addition, I receive and review all timesheets, leave request, automobile expense claims, compensatory request, and supply orders. Also, I have gained much knowledge in our ECM and HMIS programs, making sure all data entered is precise and matching with one another. Because of this I am the lead in communication of reports with the Homeless Coalition for our Rapid Re-Rehousing Program, and our Permanent Supportive Housing Program. Assist with emergency’s whether natural or man-made. Assist with filing incident reports when required. Show less

Appreciatively I have learned so much in this position. Here I’ve gotten the opportunity to gain so much experience in different areas in my department. Answering calls, directing customers to the corresponding departments are some of my tasks here. When assisting in the reception area I take care of incoming clients by getting them signed in and when necessary, assisting them with their applications. I’ve also assisted in the Bill Verification Department, calling utility companies to obtain information on bills status. In Case Assignments, I forward the final application to the eligibility specialist after verifying completeness, and ensuring that each specialist receives an equal amount of cases. Lastly, in the booth area clients follow up with us with documents that are needed to complete their case, in which I fully assist in making copies and ensuring it gets forward to the specialist on the case.
