Naturally this position has enhanced my communication skills. Additionally, as a promoter it is paramount for my success that I am friendly and very approachable. Consequently, my ability to interact with all kinds of people has been expanded by this experience. Moreover, my dedication to hard work has also been developed during my time as a promoter because this job involves being out on the streets in all sorts of weather at different times of the day. As a result, it is important that I am dedicated to the job in order to be successful and ultimately approachable.

  I have attended a two day teaching taster experience with the charity ‘TeachFirst’ in which I got the opportunity to teach a small class of year 7’s History. This was an incredibly valuable experience because I developed my ability to lead a group to a target which was, in this case, the learning outcome of the lesson. Additionally, my teamwork skills were challenged and enriched as I taught the lesson with one of my peers. Thus, we had to work together to provide the most efficient and useful lesson to the children.

  I have worked as an alumni caller for the University of Birmingham with the aim of raising funds from alumni of the university for a charity project set up in 2019 by the university called ‘Bright Minds in Birmingham’. In this position I greatly built upon my communication skills already established working as an event promoter for Vodbull because it was crucial to create a positive rapport with the alumni. Thus, I have a great ability to transfer information clearly and coherently to others. In this way, I work well in teams as I can communicate very easily with a wide variety of people.
