Intensive 3 month course focusing on various front and back end languages. Lessons included daily stand-ups and coding challenges. Module 1 & 2 focused on front end languages such as JavaScript and React alongside CSS and SCSS styling. Module 3 & 4 focused on backend languages and databases such as Python and MongoDB. Project One – Snake Game – https://edwardgillard.github.io/SEI-project-one-Game/ A solo front end project produced in 8 days. In this first project I used a combination of HTML, CSS and JavaScript to create an alternative version of classic arcade game- Snake. Project Two – Hackathon – https://news-and-weather-worldwide.netlify.app/ A pair project produced in 1 day. The focus of the Hackathon was to use React, SCSS and dependencies like Axios and Bulma to create a functioning app with 2 public APIs provided by NewsAPI and WeatherStack to cater to a range of audiences worldwide. Project Three – KEBB Bazaar – https://kebb-bazaar-clothes.herokuapp.com/ Full stack and group project built in 7 days. This app was developed using MERN stack with a range of dependencies. We split our team of 4 in half and worked in pairs. My pair started on the backend using Node.js, Express, Mongoose and MongoDB and built it swiftly allowing us to spend a decent amount of time working on the front end using React, JSX and SCSS too. Project Four – Blind Dates – https://blind-dates.herokuapp.com/ Full stack solo project built in 8 days. This app was built in Django and Python on the backend and React Hooks on front. This was an interesting project using technologies I had never used or had limited training in. I enjoyed the challenge of making a mobile/tablet focused app with a twist. Extra Project – Bangers.Mate. – https://bangers-mate.herokuapp.com/ During the SEI course I created an extra full stack project in MERN stack to create a music playlist builder. I gave myself 8 days to complete this around my classes and homework. Show less
