  Our agency provides service to over 8000 children in 21 counties in Florida; this includes our Early Headstart, Regular Headstart, Migrant Headstart, School Readiness programs, and charter schools. The IT department is responsible for providing support to over 100 locations. The support consists of computer support for over 2200 computers, Internet access, telephone and wireless coordination, training, etc...We manage a Microsoft server 2012 environment (90% Virtualized using Microsoft HyperV), utilizing sonic wall devices for providing Wide Area Network capabilities, including outlook and tunneling capabilities. The IT Director is a member of the management team and is responsible for management of the IT department; these responsibilities include strategic planning and all computer and network purchases. In addition, the IT Director is the Information System Security Officer for RCMA and the Erate Coordinator for RCMA.

  I am a retired Communications Chief from the Marine Corps of 24 years. I held many positions while in the Marines, and I finished my career merging a telecommunications and information systems division into one operating entity, this included management of the communications center, computers, and network, including unclassified and classified networks. The merging of the telecommunications and information systems division was later used as a concept for other organizations.
