In both courses I provide engaging and challenging content designed to help students take and develop agency for their own learning and development. I take a coaching approach to working with students in all of my classes, helping them to identify their own learning goals, to develop strategies to meet them and to take action.Beyond my teaching duties, I am co-sponsor of the school’s Eco-Council, a group of students working to raise awareness of the global environmental crisis and to inspire our community to take action. Compassion is the secondary school’s theme this year and I took the initiative to start a team to help keep discussion of the theme alive throughout the year.During the COVID-19 lockdown I designed and delivered a high-quality remote learning programme and maintained a high level of professional communication and collaboration with colleagues. I was hired by Marc Löffler to translate his book on Agile retrospectives, Retrospektiven In Der Praxis, from German into English. During the process, I worked closely with the author to ensure that his message was clearly, accurately and effectively translated. The English version of the book, Improving Agile Retrospectives, was published in 2017 by Addison-Wesley Professional.
