Few people can gain the respect and trust of their colleagues as soon as they join the team - but this is what happened when Elvis came to Corti! Elvis expertly filled the role of our tech lead! He gave needed autonomy to the engineers while softly showing the direction we needed to go. Elvis invested time in his direct reports’ professional and personal development. I remember the incredible workshops he prepared for the engineers that gave us insight into a particular matter. He also cared about team members’ well-being and provided support when necessary. I was particularly impressed by Elvis’s intelligence, comprehensive tech knowledge, and ability to quickly pinpoint problems and suggest solutions. Elvis would be an asset to any team!

Elvis is one of the smartest and most talented engineers I ever worked with. His knowledge about web development, and most specifically javascript is mind blowing. He cares about his colleagues and sharing his knowledge, a skill probably developed from his days as a lecturer in the University of New Zealand. Having code review sessions with Elvis were a true source of inspiration for me, always learned new stuff and things to research. It has been a pleasure to work and learn from him!

As a Frontend-Focused Team Lead at Corti I had 3 areas of responsibilities. ## Lead the Frontend guild - been responsible for creating an open and inclusive environment for knowledge sharing in our by-weekly FE meetings; - been responsible with implementing best practices: make sure we don't merge on failed pipelines, share knowledge of git merge strategies, drive efforts of simplifying the architecture of the FE codebase, upgrade Electron to latest version in order to provide our users with a unified runtime environment. ## Lead a subteam of engineers within Clear team - I had 5 engineers reporting directly to me (2 Go and 3 React engineers); - Been running 1-1 meetings and helped with their job satisfaction and growth; - Provided EOY feedback and helped 2 engineers to get promoted to the next level in the career ladder; - Helped with scoping, breaking down, and planning of new Epics and Tasks; - Helped with formulating quarterly OKRs; - Helped with process improvements both withing the team but also with the overall release process. ## Lead organization initiatives - Helped with representing the 5-stars plan: the long-term vision for the tech team; - Helped with prototyping new solutions: here I carried on my previous experience with streaming technologies and Electron; - Helped with releasing an integration with Priority Dispach AQUA software written in Delphi, which was part of a very large contract (in my first month); - Helped with overall direction of the engineering team by providing feedback whenever needed. I have joined Tame as a VP of Engineering to oversee the entire development of their webinar platform built on Next.JS, React, and Amazon Chime - using TypeScript. Unfortunately, the founders didn't manage to secure another round of investment and decided to shutdown the business in October 2022, which led me to look for new opportunities as fast as possible, to release them from financial stress. During my almost 6 years stay at Airtame I have been part of the "App Team" both as an individual contributor and as a lead. The App team is responsible with Airtame's desktop application which runs on Windows, macOS, Linux - with the help of Electron - and ChromeOS, as a packaged app. Here are some highlights of my contributions:- wrote the discovery for both ChromeOS and Electron in TypeScript using the raw udp sockets APIs provided by the platform- ported our node native C++ modules from NAN to N-API- moved several projects from Gerrit+Jenkins to Gitlab: bash, python, node.js, C++, cmake, etc.- contributed to several OSS projects: react-color, electron-builder, jest, webpack- implemented an upgrade policy and upgraded electron from 3.1.5 to version 18 during a 3 years period- been the release owner and ensured backwards compatibility is implemented across the entire product- been a co-lead of our UI library: SCSS, React- contributed to Airtame's new conferencing solution- contributed to Airtame's hiring: product and engineering- participated in customer calls on high severity issues Show less

Wavelancer mission was to democratize music production by allowing an artist to share pieces of their creation on our platform and get immediate feedback from the community. They can then write stories and interact with the audience throughout the creation process. As lead developer, I was responsible with the technology choice, design and implementation of the entire platform. The backend was comprised of an API Server (Express.JS) powered by MongoDB as storage and a Web Worker responsible for some heavy lifting (image compression, cron jobs, etc). The communication between the two was done via message queues. Fun fact: I became the initial author of @types/jackrabbit package while working on this. The Frontend was built using Angular.JS and Bootstrap as the UI library. Show less
