This is a social change education play highlighting the personal impacts and political issues surrounding chronic Lyme disease. Erica has been instrumental in designing and implementing methods of evaluation since the beginning of this project — her creativity, intelligence, and problem solving skills have been invaluable. This was a particularly unique project because it is not common for theatre artists to conduct surveys on the social outcomes of individual plays, so the creation of this survey instrument required creativity on Erica’s end. Because of Erica, In the Lyme Light Monologues has a great set of pre and post data from our first read through, as well as a strong foundation for further methods of evaluation. Thanks to Erica, we are able to critically evaluate our impact and effectiveness. Plus, we now have aesthetically appealing and easy to understand visuals.
