Mike Campbell
I worked with Dylan onboard the USS Ralph Johnson during the pre-commissioning process and up through the Final Contract Trials and Post Sail Availability. Dylan is a gifted and knowledgeable RF, Microwave, and SATCOM operator that was essential to bringing our various Line-of-Sight and Over-the-Horizon systems online. There were few issues that ever lasted very long when Dylan worked on them and his ability to learn and operate new systems was astounding. He was able to operate High Frequncy as well as VHF/UHF radio systems in various modes including military specific operations such as SINCGARS and HAVEQUICK. He would then teach others on the team how to effectively use these systems so that our communications team could maintain operations as we were underway. Dylan also mastered UHF, SHF, and EHF Satellite systems operating in various bands. His ability to identify, troubleshoot, and correct issues directly supported me in keeping network communications up throughout our underway periods. I absolutely appreciated having Dylan on my team while we brought the ship online and ran through all of the various testing and operations that we did. I know he will go on to do great things in the RF/SATCOM world and only hope that whoever he works for appreciates his ability and dedication to his work.
