I work with athletic trainers to resolve orthopedic injuries for Division I athletes via various modalities such as ultrasound therapy, electrical stimulation, and soft tissue massage. The UCLA Sports Medicine Internship Program has given me strong bedside manner, basic knowledge in anatomy and injury evaluation, and unique hands-on experience in treating patients. Observing the athletic trainers during orthopedic evaluations and rehabilitation plans post-operation have been extremely educational and rewarding.

I interned in the Planetary Geosciences division for ten weeks conducting two experiments.I conducted trials and collect data for various transducers that recorded seismic measurements. From these seismic measurements, we hoped to deduce the strength of various soils mimicking those found on Mars in order to determine the viability of building or mining on these soils.I then conducted trials and collect data for a dielectric probe, which used electric spectroscopy to identify the water content in soils. A successful dielectric probe would be able to be attached to a rover and detect water content on other planets.
