• Responsibilities: Instructor of sailing to a wide range of students with differing backgrounds, ages, and abilities. • Accomplishments: I have learned how to adapt my teaching style to meet the needs of each individual student, whether they be at-risk, disabled, or a recreational sailor. I aid students to improve their self-esteem, self-efficacy, leadership abilities, and their independence. This experience has taught me the importance of adaptability and problem solving, as well as refining my communication skills. I am especially proud of being involved in the first blind sailing program at the Downtown Sailing Center. • Skills Used: On land sailing instruction, on water sailing instruction, program coordination, program leadership, boat upkeep and maintenance, race committee, team building, and STEM programming.
