Projects I have led since joining Cubic: Network - Design & maintenance of highly redundant network using MPLS L3 VPN, eBGP/iBGP and OSPF. - Design and building of new datacentre network to provide geo-redundancy to Cubic's network and services. - Full migration of production services from existing datacentre to new location with minimum downtime. - Deployment of IPv6 across the IP Backbone - Complete network backbone capacity upgrades from 1G to 10G and then to 100G infrastructure - Implementation of a new global firewall solution using Cisco ASA and Fortigate UTM, and migrating the production network through these firewalls without interrupting customer services. - Implementation of new network monitoring solution via a new Solarwinds deployment and complete overhaul of the existing PRTG deployment. Cloud - Migration of Microsoft Azure connectivity from multiple Site-to-Site IPSec VPNs to geo-redundant ExpressRoute links. - Deployment of Direct Connect links between Cubic on-prem datacentres and AWS. - Deployment of multi-region CheckPoint firewall infrastructure in MS Azure. - Deployment of AWS EC2 and Application Load Balancer Solutions using autoscaling. This included the design and implementation of the new datacenter LAN using Nexus 7010’s, 5010s with 2248/2232 Fabric Extenders and 3064’s as well as a completely new WAN design and a new firewall/DMZ design. - These switches used a number of datacenter switch configuration techniques such as Virtual Device Contexts and Virtual Port-Channels - Implementation of a 2nd WAN cloud to provide full redundancy for Tier 1 and Tier 2 sites and for carrying heavy Disaster Recovery replication data.
