The Effect of Conformity Bias on Group Observational Research
-
2020 - 2021
• The Effect of Conformity Bias on Group Observational Research • Estimated the deer population at Kennesaw Mountain for effective Dept. of Natural Resources Population Control (and how many hunting passes can be assigned each year)• Density of the deer population present in different areas of Kennesaw Mountain• Identified that different personalities that make up a group can have an effect on the results of observational research• Showed that data collected by inexperienced observers does not cause significant variations in results compared to an expert observer and a single observer• This has become a yearly observational project and allows for greater data collection every year through future groups of Ecology students. Being able to have greater confidence in the cunts from amateur observers means faster data collection, larger data sets, and more accurate results. Show less
