Deployed to Arab Jabour, Iraq from May 2007 for approximately 15 months. Was responsible for 14 men, including our Battalion Lieutenant Colonel and Sergeant Major, and performed sick call duties taking care of daily ailments. Was responsible for commanding the fourth truck in our squad, as well as maintenance, upkeep, and accountability of all sensitive items and basic issue for myself and two other soldiers. Left for combat patrol every single day, except for 2 week break in January. Selected by a panel of my peers and leadership to be assigned to Task Force Black in addition to the Lieutenant Colonel's Personal Security Detachment in an E-5 position held while only an E-3 and E-4. Performed emergency lifesaving and medical duties in direct combat, as well as during down time while not on patrol. Managed training Company Combat Lifesaver Program to ensure Scouts and Mortar men were trained in self and buddy lifesaving aid.
