Manage all phases of Installation organizational programs, in full support of the national defense initiatives and missions. Provide critical training support services to the mobilization of troops that are activated, trained, certified and deployed for the war fight. I manage personnel that are involved in professional, technical, trades, and administrative positions; includes dual status and non-dual status federal employees, state employees, contractors, full time AGR and traditional guard personnel. The training center also supports several tenant units, ARNG support facilities, and other non-ARNG activities. I manage a variety of state and federal funds utilized to perform the training center’s operational support mission and ensure all funds are executed IAW regulatory guidance and respective formal support agreements with external organizations. I also ensure that these funds are brought together and expended as directed within terms of higher headquarters established policies, fiscal laws or other agreements; and that sound management principles are used to assure maximum utilization of all resources in support of troop training. I attend a variety of public and official meetings with Federal, state, county/city officials, and civic organizations for the purpose of obtaining public services, planning for future needs, and discussing community problems or development plans that affect training center operations in support of national defense missions. I ensure the community development plans are synchronized with the Strategic Plan, the training center master plan and range development plan to provide support to troops, customers, and employees for supply and logistics, force protection, physical security and safety program requirements, and recreational support while ensuring all environmental regulatory requirements are met. Principal Deputy to the Commander of a Heavy Maneuver Joint Training Center which offers services to customers spanning the joint intergovernmental interagency environment.
