Dustin was a student in four of my upper-division electrical engineering courses at NAU: EE364 - Electromagnetics, EE401 - Power Systems, EE 484 - Power Electronics, and EE 490 - Electric Drives. EE364 is a required junior-level course, while the three power engineering courses are senior technical electives. I enjoyed working with Dustin in my classes and would recommend him highly as a practicing engineer. Dustin is reliable, ethical, and personable. Dustin's attendance was perfect through intrinsic motivation, rather than any reward or punishment on my part, and he was always seated and prepared when class started. Dustin was also attentive and participated fully during class time. He seemed genuinely interested in the subject matter; it seemed easy for him to stay engaged with the advanced technical throughout the class period. Dustin was always friendly and respectful to me and the other students. He was an ideal team member and was well liked by his peers. He never cheated, complained, or insulted anyone, and he smiled and laughed often. Dustin provided a very positive influence in the class. Compared to other students, Dustin's lab skills were particularly strong. He had a solid base of "trade skills" (machining, woodworking, etc.), developed outside of the engineering program, to which he added advanced skills in designing, constructing, and testing electronics. I believe that Dustin is an excellent all-around engineer, and I would have no hesitation in hiring him myself. I strongly recommend him and would be happy to answer any further questions about his qualifications. Sincerely, Dr. Allison Kipple

I currently do utility design and estimates for commercial and residential customers (overhead and underground). I have gained the ability to review electrical plans, using my knowledge of the NEC and NESC. I have familiarized myself with power structures ranging from 14.4/24.9 to 69KV. I also have gained the ability to work comfortably with AutoCAD civil 3D when creating my designs. Proficient in having discussion with fellow peers to get the job done. I deliver dry cleaned garments to neighboring companies. Here I have gained the knowledge of how important it is to keep a log of all clothing for accurate pick up and drop offs. I have also learned that time is essential when delivering clothing because it will keep the customers happy and the business going. I deliver dry cleaned garments to neighboring companies. I worked in a Walgreens warehouse picking and packing goods that were in transit to multiple Walgreens stores. With this, I experienced a fast paced working environment and had to constantly be aware of my surroundings and maintain focus on the task at hand to maximize efficiency. While attending this internship I was introduced to using Autocad for utility design and editing. Not only did I sit at a computer for 8 hours straight; I had to do field work which consisted of staking, surveying, and working with the utility construction crew to ensure that my Autocad drawings matched what was actually being constructed. From this internship I gained the experience of utility design using Autocad, learned some NEC standards and also gain experienced in troubleshooting solar… Show more While attending this internship I was introduced to using Autocad for utility design and editing. Being a custodian does not only mean cleaning. Being a custodian to me meant greeting people from a day to day basis and guiding them to wherever they needed to be. I also had to act as a resident assistance; answering any questions that the resident had for the community in which I lived in. Being a custodian gave me the experience of public speaking and customer service. Being a custodian does not only mean cleaning. Being a student intern on the Navajo Nation gave me an edge on what I wanted to become. Here at NTUA I had to sort prints (topographic and substation design prints), observe lineman at work on a 69 kV line and help in figuring out the termination an existing 69Kv substation. The termination was for the communication system between the main control center out in Fort Defiance, AZ and the substation which was located in Kayenta, AZ. When this internship was complete I gain the knowledge of… Show more Being a student intern on the Navajo Nation gave me an edge on what I wanted to become. My first internship I have ever attended in my first year of college. I got to experience a work environment which fast paced and efficient. While here I had to export pictures to a new search database which is being used now. I also had a chance to see scientist at work on new technology and it gave me sense on what working for the department of defense was like.
