I attended Duncan's Build Your Sales Pipeline 7 week course and I cannot recommend it highly enough. I really feel like Duncan went above and beyond to ensure I got the most out of the course. He took the time to understand my business and my personal challenges even though this was a group session. In addition he gave extra support to me, in relation to refining material I had worked on. The work we did both in the group session and in the 1-2-1 I had gave me the confidence to try new things but in a way that was in keeping with my approach. I feel I have a better understanding of the direction my business needs to go and what I can do to get there. I look forward to working with Duncan again in the future.

I recently participated in Duncan's Build Your Sales Pipeline 7 week course. Each week the course helped me to deepen my understanding of how to build a sales pipeline through introducing some new concepts and revisiting some I knew about, but Duncan took these to a deeper level. Duncan had a in depth understanding of the challenges in the B2B market and made some enlightening observations and suggestions about my business which I found hugely valuable. Even though this was a group programme Duncan offered his support outside of the weekly sessions reviewing my homework and providing a valuable one to one at the end of the programme. I've been applying the concepts I've learnt and feel my participation on the programme has had a direct impact on sales.

It is & has been part of this Global consulting firm’s core-curriculum for more than 10 years. As one of the highest subscribed and rated programmes on their soft-skills curriculum we have now delivered over 400 workshops! My first contact with Southwestern was as a student in San Jose, California in 1989. I took on a commission only sales role, door to door selling of homework and revision guides to families. I was one of their top performers and was able to pay off student debts and accumulate enough funding for travelling. After graduating from University and whilst in my first career role back in the UK I was approached to carry out a pilot to test the UK market. I recruited 20 students, trained and managed them to sell the revision guides door to door in the UK. Based on the success of the pilot my role was made permanent, to set up and run Southwestern Europe. There were 3 big growth years as the business grew from zero to £1.5m t/o. There was then a dip, where I learnt a lot about myself as a leader. We continued with 3 solid growth years. The role required considerable travel across the UK, to recruit, train, supervise and support a full-time team of recruiters, each of whom managed the commission only student sales teams. In 2001 my personal circumstances changed dramatically. This, along with the increasing travel that was needed as the business grew, led me to re-evaluate my situation and I reluctantly decided to leave Southwestern. My US employers were very supportive and I helped to recruit and train a replacement UK manager, and we parted on good terms. What I learned while at Southwestern was that I loved sales coaching on a 1:1 and group basis. There was a huge turn-over in the students in the door to door sales teams meaning a constant process of recruitment, training and 1:1 support to keep them performing well.
