Presented research at 3 conferences, 2 departmental seminars, a clinical immersion seminar, and monthly update meetings with collaborators. • Pioneered a novel DNA-based approach for cancer diagnosis in sub-Saharan Africa, developing devices and techniques to achieve diagnosis at the point-of-care. On a trial of 506 Ugandan patients, we achieved 96% accuracy in ~2 hours compared to 77% current accuracy of Kaposi’s sarcoma diagnosis (which takes 3-6 weeks). • Designed and implemented training materials and digital resources for domestic and global collaborators regarding disease state, device operation, and molecular techniques. Served as lead scientific/engineering expert on international cross-functional team of 16 dermatologists, engineers, pathologists, and epidemiologists, enabling expansion to 10 sites in 6 countries across Africa. • Led engineering efforts in industrial partnership with FoxConn through the NIH Rapid Acceleration of Diagnostics (RADx) program for strategic development and commercialization of a COVID-19 diagnostic device.
