Until 2015 I was employed as showroom manager for Warren Evans, one of the UK's largest furniture manufacturers and retailers. In my role I oversaw the growth of the showroom every year to an annual turnover approaching £2 million while maintaining an enthusiastic and dedicated team. The role required a high degree of IT fluency as well as fantastic customer service and an organisational and logistical mindset. It was a brilliant place to work, and a fantastic environment in which to build on my management and customer service skills. I have built up my customer service skills from waiting tables as a teenager, pulling pints in my early twenties, fitting ski boots as department supervisor and assistant manager at Snow and Rock to this role as showroom manager at Warren Evans. I thrive on the challenge that customer service can bring and thoroughly enjoy providing customers with the best care possible. My role at Warren Evans was extremely varied. As well as providing excellent customer service, I dealt with a variety of challenging situations including negotiation and customer complaints. Finding a resolution to a complaint that a customer is happy with but that is also acceptable to the company is ultimately the ideal end result. I feel I excel in this aspect of the position. Due to the volume of customers we served, a wide variety of issues could surface; over my time with the company I feel I've built a up very strong methods of response and resolution. I created an environment that motivated the team to exceed their targets as well as providing conditions for them to learn and further their careers. The staff turnover has been extremely low during my time with the company. The only departures I have had have been two staff members being promoted within the company to assistant management roles in other showrooms. Show less
