In January 2018, I was appointed full time to content marketing, which allowed me to increase the number of publications of Quebec-adapted articles in the Learn and Plan section of sunlife.ca. I was also in charge of writing the Quebec monthly newsletter. I was able to leverage my writing skills by editing and reviewing various articles in line with the company’s business strategy. Working at Sun Life Financial taught me a great deal. I discovered that I have talent for adapting to change and managing several projects at once. I also demonstrated my capacity to react appropriately in an emergency to ensure the company’s interests were protected.

I was hired at Sun Life Financial, within a small team, to coordinate various events and communications activities, both internal and external, as well as corporate partnerships. I also organized the annual client recognition event for over 200 guests for two of the company’s business units. A year later, after the department was restructured, my tasks evolved towards content marketing (Learn and Plan section of sunlife.ca). I also took over from resigning colleagues and assumed tasks related to internal and external communications.

I arrived at OnMobile Global together with the AVP to create a Communications and Marketing Department. My mandate involved assisting her with the company rebranding. This included seeking out high-calibre branding agencies in New York City. I arrived at OnMobile Global together with the AVP to create a Communications and Marketing Department. I joined Telesystem to assist the Senior Director in setting up the Communications and Marketing Department and implementing various projects. I helped shape the company’s new visual identity, redesigned the website and produced brochures, presentations and other promotional tools, independently or as part of a creative team. I also coordinated the internal newsletter, including research, writing, photography, layout and distribution. Being part of a small team allowed me to make the most of my versatility to deliver projects that met management’s business objectives within tight schedules and budgets.

When I began at Ivanhoe Cambridge, I organized media events for the retail properties in its portfolio. My responsibilities also included producing written content in French for the company’s corporate and promotional tools. I was also in charge of the bilingual internal newsletter, first in print, then in digital format. I therefore drafted and edited different articles and supervised design and layout. In addition, I coordinated the annual report and interacted with dozens of internal and external stakeholders while respecting scheduling and budget requirements. The final product was a reflection of the company’s commitment to excellence. I also helped revitalize the company’s website and intranet and updated its graphic standards. Moreover, I utilized my event planning skills to organize large-scale employee activities and receptions as well as events for senior management. Over the years, I became known as the “guardian” of the company’s French-language writing standards and was eventually asked to sit on Ivanhoe Cambridge’s francisation committee. Customer service has always been important to me. I was therefore very proud to earn a personal satisfaction rating of 88% on the Department’s performance report card and be awarded the Customer Service “Stanley Cup” by my co-workers.

During my time at the AMT (the Greater Montreal transit authority), I developed promotional documents for public transit users and coordinated the agency’s internal newsletter. During the January 1998 ice storm, I was part of the crisis unit and the English media spokesperson. Working with a parapublic organization helped me discover some unknown aspects of public relations and taught me to react quickly in high-pressure situations. I cut my PR teeth while working as a media relations officer for the Montreal-based Arion Baroque Orchestra. I built press contact lists and liaised with reporters and researchers to raise the group’s public and media profile. My crowning achievement was the press conference I organized to celebrate the ensemble’s 15th anniversary.
