Carol Hepburn, Ph.D.

Dr. Goins is a supportive and encouraging mentor who seeks to instill discipline, integrity, and honesty in her student’s academic writing and performance. Before taking her class, I had heard great things about her teaching style and her dedication to her students. I had the pleasure of participating in her Advanced Communication Theory course this spring at Regent University, and I can say emphatically that everything I had heard about her as a Professor and mentor was spot on. I enjoyed this course immensely, and I found her choice in curriculum and her teaching approach challenging, and at times, demanding. However, after completing her course successfully, I feel that I am better prepared to take the next step in my academic career, which means passing my qualification exams and advancing to candidacy. Doc G. is a challenging instructor who pushes her students to think critically and to apply their course study not only to their careers but also to their lives. I would recommend her to students wanting to improve their ability as scholars as well as to institutions that are seeking a highly gifted and qualified instructor to teach Communication theory courses.

Dr. Terilyn Goins worked as an instructional design specialist on several projects I managed. She has the unique ability to keep the needs of students in mind while also focusing on faculty and how best to teach material for maximum learning and retention. She is an excellent communicator and works hard to build consensus among all stakeholders in a project. Her projects ranged across several subject areas and she adapted well to each.
