Provide clinical and administrative supervision to clinical social work staff within the Substance Use Disorders (SUD) programs within all of the Greater Los Angeles (GLA) area. This includes supervising all licensed and contracted clinical social workers within the Addictive Behaviors Clinic, Opiate Treatment Program, and the Dual Diagnosis Treatment Program. Engage in program development and management as well as assist program directors and VA leadership with proper oversight of treatment implementation and adherence to program policies and procedures as required by accrediting bodies, i.e., The Joint Commission. I provide consultative services to providers within various VA GLA programs outside of SUD in matters related to substance use and appropriate treatment needs of patients suffering from addiction. I also serve as a Liaison between the VA GLA and Tarzana Treatment Center (non-VA provider) for the maintenance, data collection/monitoring, and proper implementation of the admission process for emergency detoxification treatment services.

As Acting Deputy Chief, Substance Use Disorders Section I serve as the operations manager to the clinical and managerial aspects of the Addictive Behaviors Clinic (ABC), Opiate Treatment Program (OTP), Dual Diagnosis Treatment Program (DDTP), and all detoxification services for all VA Greater Los Angeles sites of care. I am responsible for the day to day functioning and program evaluations while engaging in ongoing preparation for external reviews for accreditation from agencies such as The Joint Commission, CARF, and DEA.
