Bio
Dan Marom
Dror completed his PhD under my supervision, and transformed into a first class experimentalist. He realized several optical table-top experiments, progressively becoming more difficult, and requiring mastering of optics, test and measurement instrumentation, automated control, data analysis and more. He also operated an ultrafast laser system that required daily TLC to work well. It was a joy to work with him, and see him develop into an independent scientist. He is hard working, and able to work in a team or push through independently. I highly recommend him to anyone considering his employment.
Hen Rozen
Dror is a skilled physicist with strong problem solving abilities and a "can do" approach. He is pleasant to work with and responsive to the needs of the team, providing support as needed and tackling challenges as they arise. Dror's work is of consistently high quality and he has a flexible and open mindset, bringing innovative solutions to the project. Having worked with Dror on a several projects including product design and testing, I am happy to recommend him as a committed and reliable worker and valuable asset to any team.

Worked in multidisciplinary team to develop next generation helicopter pilot's head mounted display (HMD). Responsible for microdisplay integration (including collaboration with manufacturer on display development project), backlight design using Light Tools illumination modelling software, maximising non-imaging efficiency and colour and uniformity quality, optical coatings specifications and final product testing. Developed measurements analysis code in Python as part of an automated colour and luminance measurement system for microdisplays, wrote specifications and expected outcomes for the system and carried out proof of concept testing. Resolved HMD brightness issue following customer feedback. This included collaboration with HFE, work at production site with NPI engineers, TE calibration and protocol writing. Carried out theoretical feasibility study of implementing a laser diode + MEMS scanning mirror as an image source for a HUD. Built lab setups for component and system level testing and characterisation of optical and electro-optical components, analysed results and provided recommendations. Drafted non-imaging specifications and POD document. Worked with many disciplines including optical designer, systems engineer, mechanical engineer, hardware, materials and NPI engineers.
