In 2017 I had three health/fitness goals. Two were performance related (Back Squat & Deadlift) and one was health/longevity related (to improve mobility and reduce pain in my right ankle, which had been chronically bothering me since an injury in 2005). My fitness mentor at the time introduced me to Nick and recommended that I seek treatment from him. I had been to both a physio and a sports medicine doctor, and neither were able to help me. The physio was very nice, but his plan didn't work, and the sports medicine doctor I saw simply wanted to sell me a brace for my ankle instead of actually addressing the root cause of the problem. Nick, on the other hand, was a wizard at assessing me, and without even using any tools (e.g. just with working on my ankle with his hands) made an immediate improvement by breaking up adhesions/scar tissue. I was suddenly able to sit in a resting squat for more than a few seconds without pain and discomfort, and my feet were caving in less when I squatted. Within a couple visits my ankle improved from a 4/10 to a 7-8/10. It wasn't perfect, but it was MUCH better, and it improved the situation to the point that I was able to go from sitting in a resting squat for only 5-10 seconds, to 5-10 minutes (not immediately, but over a period of months). Before meeting Nick I was wary of adjustments and chiropractic in general, but my experience with Nick has taught me that a chiropractor who uses their knowledge of anatomy and thirst for learning to continue their professional development after finishing their formal schooling will have a large number of methodologies at their disposal beyond just adjusting you. Due to my positive experience with Nick as his patient, I now encourage all new clients that come to me for help with joint pain, back pain, poor posture, limited range of motion in joints, etc. to seek treatment from Nick in parallel with the strength training program I provide. My clients get better results when they also see a soft tissue expert like Nick.
