Bio
Mona Camacci
Dr. Lorraine Mancey O'Brien served as my thesis advisor as I was completing my masters in Equality Studies at UCD. She served as a wonderful role model during our weekly meetings. Her vast knowledge in auto ethnography and her passion for global justice and equality made her the perfect mentor. She asked tough questions and made me think about global issues in ways in which I had never thought about. Furthermore, she was a fun and thoughtful mentor to have. I'm extremely grateful that I was lucky to have her as a my mentor.

I work in a support capacity for Ruhama which is a Dublin-based NGO which works on a national level with women affected by prostitution. Our service is comprehensive to meet the broad range of experiences of women affected by prostitution. In the Ruhama Development Section, each woman's education programme is planned and designed to match her needs and abilities. Women can choose as a first, step one-to-one classes, before engaging in group learning. I am facilitator and tutor for women who avail of education as a means of building their self-esteem, developing new interests and acquiring the skills needed for the workplace. I provide support where women are engaging in new areas of study, most of my work is to support women who wish to take up third level studies.
