  Design custom trucks according to customer requirements. Most trucks involve a crane of some sort as well as extensive custom fabrication that is done in house. I create a 3D model of the truck we intend to build and get customer approval for the build. Engineering drawings are also created with build instructions for the mechanics.   I worked with Professor David Forliti on his research project that studies the effect transverse acoustic waves have on jet streams of air. We are using a new Particle Image Velocimetry system that can measure the velocity of the air at various points, allowing us to gather more accurate data on what is happening in the system. I was awarded the Collaborative Inquiry Grant by the Undergraduate Research Opportunities Program to work on this. I worked on the experimental setup as well as data processing and analysis. This research project has important implications for applications such as rocket engines where the stream of fuel can be disrupted.
