Adam brings a broad background in engineering, modeling and data science to deliver insights across a broad spectrum of challenges. Although he was only with Scripps a few months, he tackled several modeling projects with expertise and professionalism that allowed him to contribute significantly to the overall mission of the Enterprise Analytics Department. He quickly learned the Scripps business and was able to design, build and verify several predictive models in order to build a better understanding of what drives customer engagement. I highly recommend Adam for his technical abilities, professionalism and willingness to dive into new areas and learn quickly. It was a pleasure to work with him, and I would work with him again given the chance.

Adam came to our business-driven enterprise analytics team after spending several years in more of an academic setting. Sometimes this can be a difficult transition but Adam was up and running quickly and seemed to embrace the change. In a period of weeks he learned our data science stack and became an active and valued contributor. I also found him to be adaptable, creative and thoughtful in his work. More importantly, no matter what the situation, he had a solid rationale and basis for his methods, and was also honest and forthright if one path of analysis didn't pan out. I appreciated his integrity and competence, which gave me confidence that we could trust him and the results of his work.

Acted as the lead Data Scientist, directing project paths, influencing and formulating the necessary insights and deciding on the final analysis methods needed to complete the project.Determined a new and unique metric in addition to viewing starts (used by multi media companies to determine an articles impact) that can be used to predict the articles reach more accurately.Design, build, develop and test statistical analysis, predictive analysis and evaluation software. These digital tools are designed to order news articles so that they retain the attention of the customer and improve the viewers experience. I also gained a lot of experience using SQL and RapidMiner, using these tools to accesses, manipulate, clean and categorize Big-Data.The software used machine learning code I developed using python. Predictions of an articles lifespan, its reach and its retention whilst watching (whether or not the view would watch the full clip) were calculated to help rank the products impact. Separate software was built to statistically analysis how the product can be improved to impact greater viewership numbers and an approximate release time was calculated to allow the article to gain maximum reach. Produced client specific product marketing and sales predictions, including optimizing consumer paths to purchasing the product

Designed, developed and tested analysis software (Fortran & Python). Built the analysis software for use by other members of the group. Construction and development of statistical analysis software to identify trends and patterns across multi-dimensional data sets. Some examples of this are to identify physical structural types (liquid or solid), phase transitions (going from liquid to solid), packing formations, nucleation patterns (when ice forms in water) and domain boundaries (like cracks in an ice cube). These programs used cluster analysis, principle component analysis and graph theory to determine basic structural patterns and shapes.Data Models where constructed to allow for varying formats and un-formatted files to be submitted and analyzed. Data transformation processes were performed to convert the different data types into a universal format needed by the software. Simplification and optimization processes were also done to remove unwanted data and reduce the processing time. Chemistry and Pharmaceutical software was developed to create a new simplification process to analyse how a course grain (CG) approximation of an atomic model could be used to reduce processor requirements and computational cost. CG systems are bulky approximations of atomic systems, replacing groups of atoms with a single course grain or large sphere. The method used a mixture of statistical decision making (machine learning algorithms to help pick a bulk structure), statistical analysis and classification tools to generate results of these new structures.
