Dr Viraj was a laboratory demonstrator and tutor for my 1st year organic chemistry units at Queensland University of Technology. His responsibilities included instructing groups of up to 20 students in the correct use of standard organic chemistry techniques (reflux, distillation, recrystallisation, liquid-liquid extraction, etc) and helped reinforce the theory behind the experiment in a practical way. He was also involved in the marking of student laboratory reports. Dr Viraj was always capable in the lab, very enthusiastic and well-liked by his students.
