  I worked on the DST funded project on TILLING in tomato. My gene of interest was ACS2 (1-amino cyclopropane carboxyllic acid synthase) which is involved in ethylene biosynthesis especially in the climacteric phase of fruit ripening. I was interested in finding ACS2 mutants with altered ripening characteristics in tomato.
