Celgene UK and IrelandI joined Celgene Ltd, a US based pharmaceutical Company, in order to recruit and build a complete medical department for the UK subsidiary prior to the launch of a novel treatment for haematological malignancy. I recruited a team of 10 and led the establishment of the regulatory, drug safety, medical information and clinical research processes good governance demands.In addition, given the particular nature of the product concerned, I led the development and implementation of a complete safety risk minimisation plan agreed in meetings with both the UK and Ireland regulatory authorities. Agreement to the plan was a pre-requisite of product launch which has now been successfully achieved.
