Completed a Doctoral Capstone Experience (DCE) at Encompass Health in Woburn, MA to gain advanced administration, leadership, and program development skills. DCE project focused on the creation, implementation, and evaluation of an interprofessional education (IPE) program for employees. The goal of the program was to increase participants knowledge and skills in interprofessional collaboration, and to create positive perceptions of working in interprofessional teams. Participants completed 4 IPE modules in values and ethics related to patient/family centered care, roles and responsibilities, communication, and teams and teamwork. After completing the modules participants participated in a Grand Rounds Workshop where they worked in small groups through a patient case using their new inteprofessional knowledge to develop skills. Additional components of the DCE included: working with the Division of Marketing and Communications (DMC) at Duquesne University to develop a promise statement that evoked the Rangos School of Health Sciences core values, developed resources for Encompass Health employees (guides for Team Conference), Joined the Quality Council and Diversity and Inclusion Committee at Encompass Health, and increased professional visibility by creating mentor relationships outside of the Duquesne University program.
