The Department of School Education, Government of Andhra Pradesh (GoAP), with World Bank funding, is implementing the SALT (Supporting Andhra’s Learning Transformation Program) operation within the objective of implementing localized, state-context-aligned activities and innovations for improving the quality of education in government schools. I have been engaged as a Foundational Learning Specialist by PwC under the SALT program with the following role and responsibilities: 1. Development of Framework for ECCE development of the state and Strategy Roadmap for internal purposes pertaining to Foundational Learning. 2. Identification of gaps, development of convergence plan, roles and responsibilities mapping, rollout and implementation plan of foundational learning component. 3. Co-ordination with Technical agencies entrusted for the ground implementation on and ongoing basis and progress reporting. 4. Establish formats/systems for concurrent tracking of project progress pertaining for foundational learning component and half-yearly progress reports. 5. Development of a roadmap to monitor and improve transition and retention rates as well as learning outcome of SC/ST pertaining to Foundational learning component. Show less

Social Impact, an US based global development management consulting firm conducted an evaluation funded by USAID for India Millennial Alliance Program. The evaluation was about the extent to which the Millennium Alliance (MA) platform has been effective and identify and scale innovative solutions that will address development challenges. • My role included providing technical inputs related to education sector and work of NGOs in India to aid in development of evaluation tools, analysis and interpretation of findings. : Headed the In-service Teacher Education Institute program of the foundation. The Institute provides in-service training to the pre-primary and primary government school teachers, principals and administrators of East Delhi Municipal Corporation. • Liaised with the government i.e. East Delhi Municipal Corporation for the MoU signing and project activities. • Managed overall responsibility for effective and efficient management of the institute, including the achievement of objectives and meeting the targets. • Managed the team of about 10 people including academics, admin and finance. • Developed a strategic action plan and budget for the project. • Responsible for training 1800 teachers per year on subject based pedagogy, inclusive education, and early childhood education. • Guided team to conduct situational analysis and identifying capacity building needs of the government preschool and primary school teachers. • Guided academic team to provide on site pedagogical support to the teachers at the preschool and primary school. • Conducted capacity building workshops for the team to enhance their training capacity in primary school education. The National ECCE Policy came into effect in 2014. The assignment involved providing technical assistance (on behalf of UNICEF) to Ministry of Women and Child Development in implementation of policy provisions. The responsibilities involved: • Prepared operational guidelines for scaling up and strengthening ECCE component delivered through ICDS for state departments of Women and Child Development of India. These guidelines were circulated to all state departments of Women and Child Development for implementation. • Involved in analyzing and projecting the cost of scaling up ECCE provisions and also the cost of training of ICDS functionaries on the same. • Prepared concept and strategies (functions, administrative structure) of Early Childhood Care and Development (ECCD) Block Resource Centers (BRCs) for submission to MWCD. • Prepared national level training module and strategy for training master trainers on ECCE curriculum roll out. Most of the states in India have developed an ECCE curriculum. The training module was developed for providing training to ICDS state, district and block level functionaries on curriculum implementation. This module has been widely utilized by national training body NIPPCD (National Institute of Public Cooperation and Child Development) • Supported the roll-out of the curriculum developed by states by providing guidance on curriculum and training.
