Douglas Stewart taught me how to express my design work with lighting in my time at IADT-Nashville. If he taught wherever I was taking a class I would take his class again. I learned that lighting isn't just about the lights it's about how the lights work within your space. Thank you Mr Stewart for your teaching and guidance.

Doug taught the lighting class I took while at O'More College of Design. His depth and breath of knowledge regarding all aspects of lighting plan design, fixture specification, and the importance of the right fixture for the each application allow me to meet the lighting needs of my clients today. I feel very fortunate to have learned from on of the best, and most pleasant people, in this field.

In this position, I work with all general education faculty and students taking classes in general education content areas. I also teach two classes. Some of the classes I teach are: Ethics, Environmental Science, Physical Anthropology, and Information Literacy.I also encourage and work with faculty regarding professional development and use of technology and conduct in-classroom evaluations twice a year for each faculty member so we can discuss how we may better grow ourselves as classroom leaders and emerge in the newest cutting edge practices in all content areas.Additionally, I manage the Learning Resource Center which serves the research needs of the total campus and includes the use of Cybrary data bases. Tutoring is also offered through the Learning Resource Center. The work I perform when coordinating the campus online initiative beginning in 2013 involves enrollment, management and tutoring all students engaged in online classes. Retention Manager\Faculty

I dedicated a large portion of my time working with or coordinating efforts to relieve students of barriers they believe are causing them to be unsuccessful in school and/or life that ultimately cause them to withdraw from their studies. I also assisted students through the ADA assessments necessary for the viable academic success focused on the goal of maximizing their success and minimizing loss of student population through ongoing efforts to identify persistence issues which may cause them to fail in class work and/or persist to degree completion. I instructed many currently practicing professionals in the field of Interior Design. Through a hands-on approach of learning and a complete understanding of students’ abilities, several former students now teach Interior Design. My experience teaching more than sixteen years allowed me to gain valuable insight into students learning abilities, as I introduced the best possible strategic assessments and strategies in my classrooms. I trained in "best practices" and applied what I learned to engage and encourage student learning. Show less
