During my one-month internship, I was solely focused on the project of the Integrated Health Information Platform. I had the opportunity to learn, explore and use the IHIP portal, which is still in the development stage and first phase of implementation. For the course of one week, I assisted the Integrated Disease Surveillance Program and the Jhpiego organization in organizing the Review Meeting and Refresher Training on Use of the Integrated Health Information Platform (IHIP) in the Integrated Disease Surveillance Program, for the duration of complete one week. I had the opportunity to train District Epidemiologists, Data Managers, Medical Officers, and Lab. personnel as part of this state-level training. My contribution consisted of conducting sessions on Introduction to IDSP and IHIP, S/P - form entry on IHIP application, and portal. I also assisted in training sessions of Outbreak Management, Village Mapping, Profile Entry on the IHIP portal, and conducting the pre-test session. I also drafted a summary report on the difficulties and potential solutions addressed and presented by the district epidemiologists, data managers, and laboratory technicians, as well as medical officers from the medical colleges, throughout the training session.I was assigned with the task to write a paper on the IHIP - Analysis on Future Potential, Challenges, and Gaps for Madhya Pradesh, India, by self-analyzing, identifying, as well as including the important challenges and issues highlighted and discussed during the training session.
