She obtained two Masters degrees in Psychology in South Africa. One in Research (cum laude) in which she was selected to work with the Chairman of the Association of Christian Counsellors in SA to create a curriculum for the efficient training of lay Christian counsellors. The other Masters was in Counselling (cum laude) and involved an internship at an established Therapy and Assessment Centre in Johannesburg as well as a dissertation on assessing the impact of a Christian self-help group facilitation programme (run at her local church). This is her 20th year in private practice and she deals predominantly with adults in marital and family therapy, individual therapy (ADHD, ASD, mood disorders) as well as trauma counselling. She has a passion for psychoeducation and has been invited to address delegates on Conference, run multiple marriage courses and workshops for parents, teachers and adolescents, and has been asked to comment on Radio several times about a range of subjects including: Psychodrama, The changing roles of men and women in relationships; Recovering from post-traumatic stress; The effects of Xenophobia and its graphic images on children; Secondary trauma; Irritating people; and How the public forms perceptions. She has submitted a PhD in the Division of Forensic Medicine and Pathology at WITS Medschool, on the subject of the geographical profiling of serial murder in South Africa. She also created, coordinated and lectured a part of the Forensic Psychology curriculum for the Forensic Honours students at Medschool. She is an ex-member of the following societies: British Psychological Society; Psychological Society of South Africa; South African Society for Clinical Hypnosis; Medical Protection Society (UK) and Association of Christian Counsellors (SA).
