Associate Professor Of English

2011 - Present
My research focuses on how faculty-student interactions, in and outside of the classroom, contribute to the perceived sense of belonging of first-generation community college students. I teach pre-college and transfer-level composition, research, literature, and critical thinking courses. I have held leadership positions such as: Learning Teams Coordinator, Curriculum Committee, Student Learning Outcomes Facilitator and Lead, First Year Experience Program Faculty and FYE Advisory Committee Chair. I work to establish strong relationships with my students and seek out opportunities to help students advance their academic careers.
