RSMUK Farringdon Street London- corporation tax team. My main interest are companies with substantial R&D/ operating in high tech industries. My role at RSM is split 50:50 between 1. Maintaining a portfolio of 30+ clients (from various industries), for corporation tax compliance and advisory services. I am a competent user of Alphatax, and have considerable experience of completing tax computations, requesting client information, categorising expenditure, producing and submitting CT600's, Non-res landlord returns and RDEC/ R&D reports. 2. Special projects My previous experience as a scientist has been leveraged for a number of one-off projects at RSM. These have varied from writing articles on tax for trade magazines, to excel processing of complex datasets, to business development work and product development work. Most of these involve me working directly for a lead partner.

Worked at the Unversite Sorbonne (Paris VI) on a European Space Agency grant. I used an earth orbiting satellite (SMOS- Surface Moisture Ocean Salinity) in order to track the water movements in the tropical Pacific ocean. The aim of this work was to understand exactly how rainfall influenced this complex oceanographic system. My time was split between writing algorithms in Matlab/ R, processing big data (typically>5GB file sizes), graphing output and writing and presenting findings.
