      Dr. Kumar has a long experience of 35 years and rich knowledge in disciplines of Veterinary Public Health, Epidemiology and Veterinary Bacteriology. Has visited International Universities, viz. University of Illinois, Urbana,USA., University of Sydney, Australia, University of Mekelle, Ethiopia and also visited Toronto and Ottawa, Canada. Guided 2 PhD, 7 M.V.Sc and 3 DVM students. Had been member in advisory committees of 8 PhD and 13 MVSc/MSc students. Have published more than 120 publications including 54 research articles in national and international journals, 45 presentations in national and international conferences, 13 book chapters, 5 teaching manuals and 8 popular articles.His areas of research include Food hygiene, Food Safety, Zoonoses, animal mycoplasmosis.Dr. Ashwani Kumar is recipient of several University, National and International awards/honours viz. Agra University’s Chancellor’s Medal for one of the two best students of B.V.Sc. & A.H., 1974: ICAR Senior Fellowship award( 1982-1985): INSA Visiting Fellowship award 1994: DBT Biotechnology National Associateship 1993-94: FAO Fellowship for Overseas post doctorate training at University of Illinois at Urbana, USA in 1998; Merit scholarships awards during BVSc & A.H. and M.V.Sc. education. He was Awarded as Fellow of Indian Association of Veterinary Public Health Specialists on Nov.29,2002 by Indian Association of Veterinary Public Health Specialists in recognition of his significant contributions for the advancement of Veterinary Public Health.
