  Solid Waste Management is a great task for all Municipal Commissioner, however if it is planned it may be a profitable job. Solid waste usually consist of three articles One is Green waste(All biodegradable) Second is RDF(residual derived fuel means plastic , polythene leather and even e waste) and Third is Inert.From one hundred ton of solid waste you can produce 15 ton of compost which can be sold @1500 rupees per ton .In the similar way one hundred ton MSW per day gives 40 ton daily RDF which is very sufficient for 5 Megawatt WASTE TO ENERGY plant. Usually 5MW plant cost Rs 80 Cr but Govt gives 25 Cr susidy and 30 percent money from BGFund thus net cost lowers .One can earn in one month 5000 unit per hour *24 hr*@8.00 per unit for MSW* for 30days means net Profit 2Cr per month .
