As a department chair Angela exemplifies the best of what she teaches in the classroom. She has worked tirelessly to improve both the Department of Management and the interests of the College. She expanded the department's course offerings and programs, added high-quality faculty, developed research opportunities, and pushed for the development of centers. She accomplishes these tasks with a positive, inclusive and welcoming communication style which makes being part of her team the most exciting place to be. Angela previously served as Chair of Management, a department that serves over 1000 graduate and undergraduate students through the work of over 35 full-time faculty and lecturers. Since joining Cal State L.A., Angela has worked as Co-editor for the Journal of International and Interdisciplinary Business Research and symposium coordinator in 2014 and 2015, coordinator for some 2014 and 2015 Center for Entrepreneurship & Innovation events, Editor for the Journal of Behavioral and Applied Management, Acting Director of the Pepsi-Co/FritoLay Leadership Center, and Interim Editor of the Business Forum. She has published numerous articles related to many aspects of management, women in leadership and the workplace. Her publications appear in the "Journal of Management", "Journal of Managerial Psychology", "Journal of Managerial Issues" and others. Angela has presented her research at academic conferences including National Academy of Management, Society for Industrial/Organizational Psychology and many others. Prior to earning her Ph.D., Angela worked in corporate information systems for several years before starting and operating a successful business venture specializing in computer support, application development and training. The business served both corporate and small business customers. Angela received her Ph.D. in Business Administration with a focus on Organizational Behavior and Behavioral Psychology from Florida State University, an MBA from California State University at Sacramento, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration specializing in information technology from the University of Nebraska at Omaha.
