Assistant Clinical Psychologist
-
Mar 2015 - Sep 2016
This role was a split role until December 2015. 75% of my time was dedicated to the First Year Together study across Greater Manchester. This involved developing and delivering training sessions to midwives, health visitors and research and development teams across 7 GM councils and 9 NHS trusts. I also attended meetings and acted as the liaison point between the National Centre for Social Research and front line staff. I assisted with the ethics process, using the IRAS system to help complete and co-ordinate the REC, NHS R&D, CRN Portfolio Adoption and SSI forms. I was going to be responsible for data entry, maintenance and transfer, and communicating with study participants. However, we were unfortunately unable to proceed with this study- see the following link for the project insight- http://natcen.ac.uk/media/1216021/Baby-Express-Trial-Project-Insights.pdf. Until December 2016, 25% of my time was dedicated to carrying out duties for the South Manchester Children and Parents Service (CAPS, 0-5 CAMHS), this then became my full time position until September 2016. This involved conducting clinical assessments, writing clinical notes, completing and scoring measures, managing risk, designing sleep charts/routines, writing social stories/life stories and co-facilitating Webster-Stratton Incredible Years Parenting Programmes. I was also responsible for data collection, audit, entry and analysis and producing reports for commissioners/Sure Start centres. Furthermore, I assisted the team in delivering training to healthcare/social care professionals. Show less

Client Evaluation of Self and Treatment Rollout Co-Ordinator for the Lifeline Prison Directorate
-
Jun 2014 - Feb 2015
A Lifeline colleague introduced the Client Evaluation of Self and Treatment (CEST) psychometric assessment tool, developed by the Texas Christian University, to our service, and implemented its use. The CEST assesses where a substance misuser is "at" in terms of their psychological and social functioning, motivation levels, treatment engagement and criminal thinking styles at any given moment. While working as an administrator, I developed a basic system and database for administering the tool and tracking results across time. A position was then created to roll this system out to all adult and YO prison institutions across the Lifeline prison directorate (UK-wide). This role involved developing and delivering training sessions for prison staff, liaising with Lifeline prison staff and service users, providing site support, data entry and analysis and the production of written reports for service users, staff, teams, managers and commissioners. These reports indicated that our programmes were effective in reducing psychological distress, improving social functioning and motivation, increasing treatment engagement and reducing levels of criminal thinking. This role also involved a literature review of our existing drug and alcohol leaflets and in-cell workbooks. Show less
