My thesis explored the ignored, misunderstood and devoiced women characters from Hindu Mythology like the Ramayana and the Mahabharata. The thesis delved with the primary characters Surpanakha, Urmila, Satyavati and Meneka and their journey from periphery to center. Furthermore, my thesis examined the myths from a gynocentric perspective focusing on female identity. My areas of Research Interest includes Gender Studies, Speculative fiction, cultural studies, popular culture and mythology.
