Oversaw with professionalism day-to-day operations of 50-person team which comprised of Emerging Technologies, Residential and Commercial Buildings, Appliance and Commercial Equipment Standards, and Building Energy Codes areas. Directly supported and provided strategic guidance for the Commercial Buildings Integration (CBI) Program Manager in deploying new energy efficient technologies into U.S. commercial real estate. Created and developed presentations to the Executive Staff on new policies and procedures set forth by the Department and helped implement into the BTO program. Prepared ENERGY STAR® partnership agreements, executive correspondence, and congressional letters for review and concurrence of BTO Program Director, Deputy Assistant Secretary, Energy Secretary and the Legislative Affairs Office. Hope Worldwide Mid-Atlantic served as the host organization to my position as an Americorps fellow. As a fellow, I gained valuable experiences as a volunteer coordinator for several worthy initiatives to include the Global Outreach Day and the Saturday Volunteer Program meeting crucial needs for soup kitchens, senior citizen homes, shelters and other vulnerable populations within the DC community. Having providing exceptional service and helping the Executive Director win several notable grants, I was hired as full-time staff after my two year Americorps fellowship and was promoted to Volunteer Director.I organized and provided training to volunteer staff serving at various service agencies throughout the metropolitan area. I developed survey tools and measurements for volunteers and agencies served which enhanced outcomes as well as improved the outcome of the Global Outreach Day. More importantly, I gained valuable experiences working in the Non-profit sector and developed a deeper committment to serving communities abroad. Show less
