I mainly performed field surveys of control and heated treatment plots for potential effects of climate change on phenology and growth of Arctic flora as part of the ITEX program network. Simultaneous projects included a Gynaephora groenlandica field study, involving insect collection, specimen monitoring, and study design set-up. Miscellaneous surveys were additionally performed, such as active grid layer measurements, vaccinium collection, flower density counts, plot fertilization. I was also able to assist with a CTD survey for a physical oceanography study, as well as with some vertical plankton haul net surveys for a water column study in Resolute Bay, NU. Show less

We completed a research study related to wildlife use of Himalayan blackberry, participated in a long-term invasive plant species mapping project, and performed data entry for various surveys. Side projects included Spartina mapping, a bulrush survey in the Fraser river estuary, and invasive plant species removal (Scotch broom, Himalayan blackberry, Purple loosestrife).
