I worked on the team for UFR and SPS Basic Engineering studies of Egina FPSO Development Project for Total Upstream Nigeria. The project was carried out in Lagos by Dover engineering Limited in conjunction with MCS and JP Kenny, both Aberdeen based companies. The Egina FPSO development project is in a water depth of 1150m – 1750m. The UFR basic engineering comprises of tieback of two production riser loops (i.e. four production risers), three water injection risers and one gas export riser. The pre-project studies recommend the use of STTR riser which is a combination of rigid and flexible risers for the water injection and gas export risers. The production riser is a Concentric Offset Riser (COR) TTR, made of an annulus pipe for the gas lift and an outer pipe for the production fluid. A flexible jumper connects the rigid riser to the FPSO while the riser base spool connects the riser base to the FLET. My responsibility includes building the riser models (production, water injection and gas export) using flexcom finite element analysis software for heavy, nominal and light configurations. Performed screening analysis for different wave directions to determine the most onerous wave when applied to the FPSO, analyzed for frequency domain and time domain screening. I also analyzed for static solution to the riser model, performed quasi-static analysis by the application of Omni-directional currents for different year profile, and also analyzed the riser models dynamically by the application of different wave directions. All analysis performed were carried out for both riser in-place and stand-by conditions. I performed sensitivity analysis for the riser models such as hydrodynamic effects, linepipe staggering and marine growth. I also analyzed for extreme analysis. I also post processed for clearance between the riser linepipes, flexible jumpers and FPSO mooring line. Prepared engineering reports based on results from analysis. Show less
