Ben, I must say a true community person. His contribution for community is unique and his idea of giving recognition to others for their work is really motivational. His contribution is remarkable. His testing knowledge is great which can help to make any product perfect. Kudos to Ben for his hard work and dedication. He always set an extra milestone!!

Ben joined Control F1 as Senior Quality Analyst, already with a wealth of experience but also with infectious enthusiasm, attention to detail and the true desire to learn new skills and take on more responsibility. He swiftly progressed to head up a team of Test Analysts after the business was acquired, and performed fantastically at it. Ben works will with colleagues at all levels and customers alike and cares deeply about delivering truly high-quality software solutions. I have zero hesitation in recommending Ben to any prospective employer.

As the Quality Manager at Intercept IP, I had a wide and varied range of responsibilities and duties. I line-managed the Testers in the Telematics side of the business, supporting individual growth and development and supporting the team with test process refinement and automation efforts. Additionally, I took full personal responsibility leading Testing on the Digital Services side of the business. In this role, I supported the development team to produce high-quality software that met the needs of our varied clients. My contributions to the Digital Services testing reached across the full stack for multiple projects. I worked closely with customers daily to triage and confirm issues and communicate our progress in addressing them. I often ran customer meetings, recording notes and actions and following up. I supported the developers with deep technical analysis, analysing logs and managing dev/test environments and configuration using Kubernetes, Helm, Rancher and GitLab. I even fixed a handful of customer issues myself. I also contributed to the system documentation for one significant project. Show less

Testing major features for Citrix Flagship product For the last 5 years I have led the test effort on major new features for Citrix flagship product XenApp/XenDesktop. I built prioritised test suites that are still being used today. Headline features I have worked on include: Support for Amazon Web Services (AWS); AppDisks; Nutanix Plugin and XenApp Essentials Test Management Office - document review and test process development I held a technical role as part of the Test Management Office for over 4 years, working closely with the Test Architect and Process lead. I reviewed and approved test documentation and test cases, providing constructive feedback. I defined test environments and updating the test document templates to reduce duplication, contributing to the improvement of the overall test process. Managing complex test environments I build simulated production environments using graded levels of complexity. By identifying the relevant scaling factors for each major feature, I focus on what is important. For example, while testing Machine Creation Services (MCS) I built a range of different virtual machine hosting platforms. I used high and low versions of XenServer, VMware and Microsoft HyperV. Customers and Community I built the UK Customer Empathy Programme, now called Voice of the customer. I organised 8 customer events, connecting Customers directly to Engineers. I was recognised for this work with a “Making it happen” award. I have presented 4 times at the user-led UK Citrix User Group. I spoke about Customer Empathy, AppDisks, MCS Full Clone and XenApp Essentials. I supported one Customer to give a talk on his involvement in the Customer Empathy Programme. Show less
