I enjoyed working with Doug for 2 years on a complex BSS project during which time he lead a team delivering the billing architecture. Throughout that time he demonstrated excellent conceptual and analytical skills; complimented by his passionate approach and willingness to stand up for his beliefs when necessary. A great member of the team Doug worked well with business stakeholders his peers, and the design community to deliver a good solution in a challenging environment.

Doug has a unique ability to problem solve from both a business and technical perspective. This ability to span these areas allows for robust and informed business solutions. His ability to articulate complex technical issues and options in business language was a significant asset on our project. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Doug in a consulting capacity

I led a team of solution architects and designers in architecting and designing the Billing and Enterprise Systems applications for Telecom Retail’s major business transformation initiative – a multi-year, multi-million dollar programme of work. This involved delivering a Service-Oriented Architecture for billing including: billing and accounts receivable; a new invoice generation platform; a new online billing portal; a new credit application scoring platform; a new collections management platform (dunning); new business intelligence platforms; and new payment processing platforms including real time credit card payments. This role involved the pre-sales and implementation of Intelligent Networks to Fixed and Mobile telcos. The pre-sales work involved presentations and demonstrations to customers, requirements gathering and solution design. The implementation work involved installing and configuring software, solution testing, integrating the IN components with the customer network, and supporting UAT, as well as responding to customer queries, training users and setting up and maintaining test environments. This role required flexibility and a combination of technical and customer skills. As part of the pre-sales team I prepared and presented technical demonstrations to clients (including VoIP products), been part of the team that produces sales proposals (for example Number Portability for TelstraClear) and demonstrated how customer services can be implemented using eServGlobal software products by producing high level solution designs and example configurations based on advertised (and proposed) services. Working in the solution design space I have written software requirements and solution designs – translating the requirements into the software configurations required to implement them. Show less
