I am very honoured that of the many candidates that Douglas encounters on a regular basis, that I was selected for the privilege to work under his leadership at Knowledgehook. Doug leads by example, with incredible patience and such a humble spirit. I'm so grateful for the support Doug offered to my work on a daily basis and for creating a workplace where I know no question is a stupid question. In my Theatre Production Coordinator role at Knowledgehook, Doug always backed my creative initiatives with anchoring guidance and encouragement that helped me to achieve empowering results; this was extremely liberating for me as a creative working in an academia/business world where roles like this did not previously exist. Doug had also allowed and encouraged me to continue pursuing opportunities in the theatre industry while I was in my position with Knowledgehook; he accommodated complicated schedule changes and even shared my workload without a single complaint. Above all, I am most grateful for all those little moments Doug would spare to ask how I'm doing - and even when that is met with an answer that has nothing to do with work, he listened to whatever was happening personally with nothing but empathy. Thank you Doug, for making work a joy for me every single day, and for caring for my passions and wellbeing outside of work.

I've been very fortunate to work with Doug over the past three years in my role as Regional Sales manager for Western Canada. Doug was my counterpart for the Central region. Doug is a consummate professional, brilliant sales manager, and incredible team player. Doug’s uncanny ability to think outside the box, develop sales and marketing strategies which delivered measureable results were a asset to all 3 of our Canadian regions. Doug also had the admiration of his team. His team always did their very best for him as they respected and trusted him. This trust and respect was built through his fairness in coaching, mentoring and the realization that Doug was not just working for his success, but for theirs. It was paramount to Doug that the members of his team were successful and recognized for their hard work. Under Doug’s guidance, coaching, and motivation his region successfully met and exceeded their sales plan year over year. In 2017 his regional recognized an outstanding 14% sales growth over the previous year! As a team player Doug is second to none, he would often would often provide words of encouragement, sales tips and strategies to the other regions associates, especially during healthy sales competitions between the regions. Doug is one the best leaders I have worked with and I would not hesitate to work with him again. Any business is fortunate to have him on their team!

As our population continues to gracefully age, many seniors are looking more to retirement homes to enjoy health, meal and entertainment services in their twilight years. I was happy to work with seniors and their families to find the best possible retirement home that meets their lifestyle. In addition, I was an elected board member of the Kingston/Belleville Council on Aging whos mission was to assist seniors in need and provide numerous resources to keep them safe from harm. How do you change a customer support center into an inside selling team? Its not a secret formula but this is what I achieved at Sears Canada through the following simple method:Vision - Make sure everyone understands and is aligned with the company vision.Measure - Make sure you have a system in place to track set goalsCoaching - Coaching, coaching and more coaching. Make sure team leads know how to coach the associations, managers the team leads and directors the managers. Incentives - Have a very motivating incentive structure in place.Ok there are more then these 4 ingredients but these are some of the most important ones.Responsible for strategic sales planning and management to increase revenue throughout the 3 regional call centers. In charge of developing incentive programs and budgets, implementing sales training and coaching programs, liaising with internal clients, influencing process developments, mentoring 15 managers with over 1000 associates, creating/automating sales reports and present sales analysis/results to executive team.
