Joining RSHP in 2007, I initially worked on a number of projects in London including a 26-storey office building in Broadgate and the Conservation and Exhibitions Centre at the British Museum. Between 2009-11, I was a key member of the design team working on the headquarters of the BBVA Bancomer bank, a 50-storey office tower in Mexico City, helping to develop the brief from the winning competition design and was part of a four-person RSHP team that moved to Mexico to collaborate with Legorreta + Legorreta during the detail design and construction phases. The completed building has won many awards and forms an important urban landmark on the skyline of Mexico City. From 2011, I have worked on a new jetty for Geneva Airport, Aile Est, which reached Practical Completion in July 2021. My involvement started at an early stage of concept design developing the services and operational strategies. This role evolved such that by tender of the main superstructure and fit-out I was leading the RSHP team, RSHP being the design-lead for the wider design consortium; RBI-T. Through the construction stages to completion, I have acted as design guardian. Despite its size and complexity, the client opted for a traditional procurement route which gave the design team a great deal of control of the detail and finishes but also a great deal of responsibility in terms of documentation and contract administration. The new pier will serve non-Schengen flights with six contact stands and numerous bus-gates. When operational at the end of 2021 it will vastly improve the passenger experience and strengthen Geneva Airport position in the Central Europe region. The jetty will be energy positive, producing more energy than it consumes. In September 2021, I relocated to Melbourne, Australia, to provide support to the site team on the Melbourne Metro project, currently under construction.
